All bedrooms and the living room are fitted with fire rated doors. There are mains wired smoke and heat alarms on each floor. Two fire extinguishers are located in the lower ground floor kitchen and the living room. A fire blanket and first aid kit are also to be found in the kitchen area. Please familiarise yourself with their location and use on arrival.
The sash windows on the top floor bedrooms open from the top down only.
The fire exits are either through the front door, or up the steps from the outside courtyard, through the alleyway and onto College Precincts.
The property is over 4 floors, so please be careful on the stairs, and don’t leave objects on any steps or landings which could form a trip hazard; especially during the night-time. The stairs outside to the alleyway can get slippery when wet.
Wood for the stove can be found in the shed outside. Use firelighters and kindling to start the fire. Always keep the glass door closed when using the stove, as excessive smoke may trigger the alarms. Please don’t touch the stove, as it gets very hot when in use and remember to use the glove provided when adding more wood.
The owner of 1 College Precincts does have access through the alleyway and down the steps to his property; although he uses it infrequently for property maintenance purposes.
Please close all windows and lock all doors when not in the house.
The property is non-smoking throughout.
No hen or stag parties can be accommodated.
